GO WHERE ONLY JEEPS CAN GO

Sedona is famous for looking like a city that was built in a national park. With kids, it can be difficult to reach some of the more scenic regions that you see on social media. The hikes can be strenuous for little legs so we opted for the obligatory Pink Jeep Tours. When booking the trip we attempted to get the most scenic and mild of the tours offered. Much to our surprise, upon reaching the dirt road, our guide informed us that the Scenic Tour 2.0 is the bumpiest ride they offer. Too late to turn back now.

Our guided Jeep tour consisted of a two-hour round trip, out and back into the red rocks of Sedona. The road was rough, to say the least, but the kids loved the jarring, bumpy ride. Needless to say, we would not bring our tow vehicle up these roads. Were you to break an axle, get a flat, or otherwise need your vehicle towed from this area, the cost is upwards of $1,000 – $2,000. We were happy to have an 8-year veteran tour guide who was super familiar with the terrain.

However, the trip is worth the rough ride. We reserved a spot for the tour during sunset hours and the beautiful views overlooking the Sedona valley cannot be over stated. Sedona is a mecca for hiking and outdoor activities and we can see why. Jeep tours can be a welcome alternative to hiking for those with small children and we’d recommend one if it is within your budget.
