No need to B.Y.O.B.

We joined Harvest Hosts so we could save on some overnighters and see some cool, funky places. Crying Eagle Brewery fit the bill as we drove on I-10 east on our way to South Florida. There is a huge parking lot behind the massive brewery and we, and other RVers, parked on the back perimeter for our stay. We didn’t spend much time in the camper. The brewery has a large outdoor area with tons of seating and the food got us hooked. I’m always hesitant to eat at places where food isn’t their primary skill but the Bistro at Crying Eagle put out some delicious food. I’m not really one for taste-testing a variety of beers but my wife sure seemed satisfied with their offerings. We saved on overnight fees by parking here for free (it sure beats a Wallydock) but as the day turned to night and the live music started, they lightened my wallet a few dollars.

I would like to point out that Lake Charles was hit by Hurricane Laura last year (2020) and the area surrounding the brewery was still in bad shape. Crying Eagle Brewery and any other local establishments can most certainly use the patronage of travelers like us and other RVers so if you’re passing through, stop in for a bite. If you have a Harvest Host membership, consider staying… you won’t regret it.
