Campendium Reviews

Private and secluded escape

We chose this boondock spot based on reviews and photos on Campendium. It far exceeded our already high expectations. Our only disappointment was that we were passing through and only stayed for the night and were off again in the morning.

As you can see in the photos below, sunset is stunning in this desert oasis. With the closest other rigs easily a couple of hundred yards away we truly felt like we had this entire area to ourselves. We arrived about an hour before sundown, set up for the evening, watched the sunset, and then retired to our camper where we watched some Netflix with the kids before going to bed. Obviously, we relied on the internet here to stream shows and it was more than sufficient. I mention this because I immediately thought what a great spot this would make for remote work… 14 days of remote work at a nice, quiet, free camping spot. So if you’re considering a place to set down for a couple of weeks and still need to be available for the inevitable Zoom meeting; this is your spot.

For long rigs or lower clearance use the westernmost entrances and exit the way you came. Attempting to traverse east on any BLM roads will have you crossing washes that intersect the roadways and many longer rigs will have a tough time. Trust us, we end up having to make a tricky backup after making this mistake.
